A business lawyer with an engineering background, he brings to technology-driven companies substantial experience in structuring and negotiating cross-border and domestic joint ventures and collaboration agreements, commercial contracts, and licensing arrangements. A significant part of his practice centers on legal problems associated with design, production, marketing, and distribution of products and services, including the selection and termination of distribution channels, pricing, advertising and promotional programs, competition law compliance, intellectual property protection, and products liability prevention.

Mr. Sellay is immediate past Chair of the Intellectual Property Committee of the American Bar Association's Business Law Section. He is a member of the International Bar Association and the Licensing Executives Society. He is also past Chair of the Antitrust and Trade Regulation Section of the Connecticut Bar Association. He has been listed in Best Lawyers since 2006.

He is a former member of the Advisory Board of the Clean Energy Fund, which invests in enterprises involved in the development, production, and use of energy from renewable sources. Mr. Sellay was appointed by the United States Secretary of Commerce to the Department of Commerce District Export Council. He is a member of the British American Business Council in the Midlands, UK, and the German American Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Sellay was interviewed and quoted in a cover article of the August 2005 issue of Director magazine, a monthly publication for business leaders published in the UK by the Institute of Directors.

Mr. Sellay received his B.S. degree in electrical engineering at Michigan State University, where he was a member of the Honors College and was elected to membership in the Tau Beta Pi honorary society.
