Mr. Stover's background includes extensive lobbying and government relations consulting activity. Prior to creating the Government Relations Group within Robinson & Cole in 1990, he was for several years a partner in Duffy/Stover, Inc., one of the state's largest independent lobbying firms.
He served as the executive assistant to the president of the Connecticut AFL-CIO, where he was responsible for the organization's extensive legislative and administrative agenda. For that organization, and for others, he has coordinated electoral campaigns in federal, state, and municipal races, acted as liaison for the state's business community, and directed press activities. He has also provided consulting services on electoral races throughout the Northeast.
Mr. Stover has served on numerous boards and commissions, including the Managed Care Ombudsman Advisory Committee and the Simsbury Land Trust. He served as a member of the Connecticut River Preservation Task Force and was appointed to the Commission on Educational Excellence, charged by the legislature and governor to develop a reform plan for the Connecticut public school system.
Mr. Stover graduated from Hamilton College with a B.A. in public policy.
