Karen P. Conway is counsel in Robinson & Cole's Health Law Group. She represents a variety of health care providers, including hospitals, physicians, physician groups, ambulatory surgical centers, and community providers. Ms. Conway provides legal counsel in all areas of health care law, with special emphasis on regulatory compliance, licensure, risk management, certificates of need, contracting, and corporate formation and transactional work, including mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures, managed care, patient care issues, physician recruitment and compensation, electronic medical records, the Stark and antikickback laws, and antitrust issues.

Prior to law school, Ms. Conway had extensive experience in the medical field, where she worked in the areas of radiology, medical office administration, and urgent care. She also interned with the Connecticut General Assembly.

Ms. Conway serves on the Leadership Board of the American Lung Association of Connecticut and as a corporator of Hartford Hospital. She is also a former board member of KEY Service Systems, Inc. Ms. Conway is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Connecticut Health Lawyers Association, the American Health Lawyers Association, and the Connecticut Women’s Council.

Ms. Conway received her B.A. in government from Smith College in 1991, where she was an Ada Comstock Scholar. She received her J.D. from Western New England College School of Law in 1996.
