Attorneys, staff, and family of Robinson & Cole recently volunteered during the 20th Anniversary AmeriCares Homefront Day. The event’s mission was to improve lives by assisting home owners, such as senior citizens, single parents, people with disabilities, and low income families, with free home repairs. The team worked on a combination of small and large home improvement projects for one home in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Click here to see pictures.

Attorneys Richard F. Vitarelli, Cathryn A. Reynolds, and Nicole A. Bernabo recently participated in the Connecticut Bar Association Young Lawyers Section seminar "The Art of Negotiation." Mr. Vitarelli and Ms. Reynolds served as panelists, along with former superior court judge Beverly Hodgson, while Ms. Bernabo served as the moderator. The seminar discussed the importance of negotiation in legal practice, why it may break down, and how to operate with skill and finesse in negotiation situations.

Insurance Partner Barbara A. O'Donnell's article, "The First Wave of Decisions Interpreting Employment Practices Liability Policies," in the American Bar Association's The Brief, will be a topic of discussion during the University of Connecticut School of Law online course on Liability Insurance Pressure Points: Policies, Coverage, and Claims. Additionally, Ms. O'Donnell will participate as a "guest lecturer" and contribute to the online forum discussion where the students discuss the readings.

They successfully represented a Zimbabwean man whose life was threatened by the Zimbabwe African National Union (ZANU PF). With the help of his attorneys, the client was able to obtain political asylum in the United States.
