Land Use Partner Tells Law360 New York City Rent Stabilization Laws Need to Change

5.15.12
Law360 quoted land use partner Brian R. Smith in a story on the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to deny a landlord's challenge to New York City's rent stabilization law. Mr. Smith filed an amicus brief on behalf of the Rent Stabilization Association of New York, Inc.

“We think the rent regulation laws need to be stricken,” Mr. Smith said to Law360. “New York needs to think of a different way to approach its housing situation. The concept that there is an emergency that has lasted this long is hard to understand.” Law360 quoted Mr. Smith in the story “High Court Skips Challenge to NYC Rent Stabilization Law,” published April 23, 2012.
