Article by Insurance Attorneys Featured on Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel Website

7.09.12
The Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel website has selected an article by insurance attorneys Rebecca Levy Sachs and Gregory P. Varga, "Repairing National Treasures -- Overview of Issues Involved in Repair of Historic Buildings," as the article of the month. The article explores issues related to repairing historic buildings after a loss, including locating historic materials, cost of materials, code enforcement and exceptions, insurance valuation, and claim measurement. The article has an appendix of links related to historic repair materials, including the National Park Service briefs regarding historic building materials and a summary of the Williamsburg restoration, the nation’s largest living history museum, which includes 88 original 18th century structures and over 500 historically restored buildings.

Mrs. Levy Sachs and Mr. Varga presented the article at the 2011 Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel annual meeting.
