    Biography

    Andrew Lipton is a member of the firm’s Insurance + Reinsurance Group, and focuses his practice on representing foreign and domestic Directors and Officers, Cyber and Tech Errors and Omissions insurers in complex coverage matters. Andrew has extensive experience representing insurers in connection with securities class action and derivative claims, foreign and domestic government investigations, and claims arising out of data privacy and cybersecurity incidents. Andrew is also an IAPP Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US).

    At St. John’s University School of Law, Andrew was a senior staff member of the St. John’s Journal of International & Comparative Law. He also completed an externship with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York.

      • Represented insurers as coverage and monitoring counsel in connection with various securities class actions filed against large public corporations and their directors and officers, as well as shareholder derivative actions. *

      • Represented insurers in D&O coverage disputes across the country involving private and public company issues concerning “prior & pending” claims, professional services exclusions, contractual liability exclusions, and public policy issues such as disgorgement of ill-gotten gains and pre-existing obligations. *

      • Represented an insurer in connection with securities class actions as well as multi-national investigations arising from a large-scale data breach of a web services company. *

      • Represented an insurer in connection with a Department of Justice investigation of an insured’s alleged violation of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. *
