    Daniel Bryer litigates complex insurance coverage disputes and provides insurance coverage advice. He works closely with clients to develop effective, efficient litigation strategies and adopts a flexible approach to problem solving to best meet the needs of his clients and cases. Mr. Bryer is a member of the firm’s Insurance + Reinsurance Group.

    Insurance Coverage Litigation

    Mr. Bryer represents insurers in a wide range of coverage disputes, focusing on property and casualty, construction, environmental, general liability, and Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) matters. He is an experienced litigator who achieves favorable results for clients in cases involving insurance coverage, contract disputes, ERISA, and health care. In addition to litigating matters, Mr. Bryer is also experienced at resolving cases through alternative dispute resolution, including mediation and arbitration.

    Insurance Coverage Advice

    Mr. Bryer provides coverage advice to clients and drafts opinions analyzing insurance coverage under general commercial liability, excess liability, multimedia, environmental, and professional liability insurance policies. He focuses on providing coverage advice in the context of complex commercial claims with potential exposure across multiple policy years and on multiple layers of coverage. Mr. Bryer advises clients regarding their potential exposure in response to claims and litigation.

    Commercial Litigation

    In the area of commercial litigation, Mr. Bryer achieves favorable outcomes in breach of contract, commercial, copyright infringement, and toxic tort matters.

    Prior to joining Robinson+Cole, Mr. Bryer litigated complex insurance coverage matters for a large firm based in New York City.

      • Provided insurer coverage advice and opinion regarding claim for coverage involving hundreds of underlying lawsuits over 10-plus years and multiple layers of insurance coverage on a coverage tower. *

      • Defeated an Order to Show Cause seeking injunctive relief and an award of benefits pursuant to ERISA, ultimately resulting in dismissal of all claims. *

      • Obtained finding of no coverage in product recall and rescission arbitration, sitting second seat at arbitration.*
