Joseph White is a member of the firm's Business Transactions and Finance Groups, focusing on corporate finance, transactional work, and emerging markets. His transactional experience includes acquisitions, sales, mergers, recapitalizations, and joint ventures.
Joe counsels clients in connection with public and private debt and equity offerings, as well as with state securities regulations and corporate governance matters. He also has significant experience representing investors and developers of real estate projects with regard to the construction of housing units, the leasing of office buildings, the acquisition of industrial facilities, and the development of power-producing facilities.
Joe has assisted clients in many aspects of wind/solar power, including permitting, construction, financing, regulatory compliance, and drafting power purchase agreements. As outside general counsel, he regularly represents medical device companies, Internet- and software-based businesses, high-technology developers and financial services companies. In addition to representing state and federally-chartered banks, Joe represents property and casualty companies in a variety of situations including insurance licensure, reinsurance company investment/ formation, negotiation of commutation agreements, drafting of executive compensation arrangements, tax credit purchasing, execution of insurance agency roll-ups, investment portfolio compliance, and counsel before state regulatory boards.
Joe also is a member of the firm's Administrative Law Group, counseling clients on procuring contracts with state and local governments and serving as a registered lobbyist in the State of Rhode Island.
Prior to joining Robinson+Cole, Joe was a partner at Nixon Peabody LLP, and he began his career as a transactional and public markets tax attorney working for Deloitte & Touche LLP.
