We routinely counsel clients and provide compliance assistance with federal and state student records laws, student immigration status issues, accommodating students with disabilities and other risk management issues. We also have experience advising, counseling and representing institutions in litigation when institutions are a party or served with discovery as a third party. We regularly assist clients with student issues by performing the following: 

• defending against allegations of discrimination by the Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights
• drafting and reviewing student handbook requirements on student-to-student behavior codes, student discipline, and other issues;
• working with local law enforcement—from investigations through prosecution—regarding on-campus crime activities; and
