    Biography

    Blair Robinson has experience in data privacy and security, cybersecurity, information security governance, information technology (IT), and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). 

    Previously, Blair served as a legal intern with the Data Privacy + Cybersecurity Team at Robinson+Cole. Prior to joining the firm, she worked as a technology analyst, and then a technology senior analyst, for Accenture in Houston, Texas. As an analyst, Blair managed the identity and access management (IAM) process for a midstream oil company, assisted in the audit of IAM process and employee system access, and led testing efforts for IT process innovation designed to streamline software licensing and requisition. As a senior analyst, Blair coordinated software and process testing activities for an HR redesign a at major consumer energy company, designed and implemented internal data controls to ensure GDPR compliance during testing activities, and developed automatically generated reports for presentation to project management. Before that, she participated in Dell Technologies’ Summer IT Internship Program for three consecutive years.

        As drones become increasingly commonplace, and in the absence of federal or state law or industry best practice in this emerging domain, lawmakers and policymakers are struggling with how to effectively regulate the unique privacy and cybersecurity risks posed by drone operations and the vulnerabilities they present for cyber-attacks. The authors report that until federal regulation “catches up with the technology, lawyers could move courts to mitigate the issue by arguing for strict liability for drone operators and manufacturers.” Kathryn Rattigan is a member of the Editorial Board of Advisors for the Journal on Emerging Issues in Litigation, a collaborative product from HB Litigation Conferences, Fastcase Full Court Press and Law Street Media, and the Emerging Litigation Podcast.
