    Biography

    Dmitriy Gelfand handles a variety of complex commercial disputes involving businesses and individuals. He represents professional liability insurers in coverage and litigation matters, including Directors and Officers liability and errors and omissions. Dmitriy is a member of the firm’s Insurance + Reinsurance Group.

    Prior to joining Robinson+Cole, Dmitriy served as a Judicial Fellow for the Honorable Claire C. Cecchi in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. In that role, he assisted in the drafting of opinions and orders on various motions, including motions to dismiss, motions to transfer venue, and other pre-trial motions. He also researched relevant case law concerning a wide array of subject areas, such as New Jersey breach of contract, New Jersey consumer fraud, federal debt collection, civil rights, and social security appeals.

    While attending the Fordham University School of Law, Dmitriy served as an associate editor on the Fordham Journal of Corporate and Financial Law and was the Intra-school Competition Editor of the Brendan Moore Trial Advocacy Center. Additionally, Dmitriy was part of the Securities Litigation and Arbitration Clinic, and volunteered as part of the Dilley Pro Bono Project, which assists asylum refugees as they prepare for “credible fear” interviews. He also externed in the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority’s (FINRA) Office of Fraud Detection and Market Intelligence as well as the High Court of Ireland.
