Douglas Mackin is an experienced construction attorney who counsels owners, developers, contractors and subcontractors in all phases of a construction project from contract negotiation through to completion. He is a member of the firm’s Construction Law Group.
Doug routinely assists clients with claims relating to construction or design defects, change order disputes, delay/acceleration issues, mechanics’ liens, bonds and indemnity. He has experience in negotiation, mediation and arbitration settings, including successfully prosecuting a general contractor’s claims against a subcontractor for defective work in arbitration and achieving a favorable settlement in a multi-million dollar indemnity claim.
Doug applies his knowledge of the construction industry and lessons learned in litigation to assist clients in drafting and negotiating construction contracts. He has been involved in projects throughout the construction industry in sectors including education, residential, energy, commercial and infrastructure.
Prior to joining Robinson+Cole, Doug worked in a boutique construction firm in Chicago, where he represented developers, general contractors and subcontractors in construction disputes and contract negotiations.
