Biography
Christopher Kehoe, a member of the firm’s Real Estate + Development Group, has over 30 years of experience as a commercial real estate lawyer, working on all types of real estate transactions. Chris focuses his practice on real estate finance, acquisitions, sales, and complex title.
Real Estate Transactions
Chris regularly represents lenders, buyers, sellers, and owners in commercial real estate transactions. He has represented a variety of clients, including national and local lenders, developers, hotel and restaurant owners and franchises, manufacturers, auto dealerships, telecommunications companies, shopping center owners, and fiduciaries.
Chris negotiates purchase and sale agreements; supervises due diligence work related to zoning, survey, and title issues; and advises corporate clients on various real estate issues in connection with purchases and sales of businesses.
He recently represented a national lender in connection with acquisition and construction financing for four climate-controlled storage facilities in Houston, Texas.
Chris has represented national lenders in multistate projects on a regular basis. For example, he was involved in a $100 million loan facility secured by 24 shopping centers in 12 different states.
Real Estate Financing
Chris handles commercial real estate financing on behalf of lenders and borrowers, with a focus on real estate finance transactions. He drafts and negotiates commercial loan documentation and provides advice regarding Massachusetts mortgage laws to lenders involved in multistate secured lending transactions.
Chris has extensive experience with handling commercial real estate financing, including construction loans of all types, mixed-use development, large scale rental and condominium projects.
His practice also includes analyzing and resolving complex title issues. Chris is a title insurance agent for seven national title insurers. In addition, he is a frequent speaker before legal, professional, and community groups on issues related to real estate law, financing, title insurance, and title issues. Chris has been selected to the Massachusetts Super Lawyers list from 2006 to 2022.
