Biography
Judy Lu is a member of the firm’s Insurance + Reinsurance Group. Her practice focuses in the areas of large-loss property subrogation and complex insurance coverage litigation. Judy's subrogation work involves the pursuit of recoveries on behalf of insurers and self-insured entities in claims arising from fires, explosions, water damage, equipment failures and other catastrophic losses. Judy also counsels and represents the firm’s clients in a variety of coverage disputes related to general liability insurance, including claims involving construction defect, product recall and environmental exposures.
Prior to joining Robinson+Cole, Judy represented contractors and public transportation entities in complex disputes related to property damage and labor law litigation. She has substantial experience in developing litigation strategy, managing complex discovery, taking and defending numerous depositions, and arguing dispositive motions.
While in law school, Judy served as an intern for the Honorable Laurie L. Lau at the Kings County Housing Court in Brooklyn, New York. Also while attending law school, Judy was a note editor for the Boston University Public Interest Law Journal.
