Michael Troha has more than a decade of experience counseling and representing leading insurance industry clients regarding both coverage-related and transactional matters. He is a member of the firm’s Insurance + Reinsurance Group, where he focuses his practice on representing domestic and international insurance and reinsurance carriers in complex coverage disputes and litigation.
Michael regularly assists clients with evaluating coverage under policies spanning many different business lines, including commercial general liability, professional liability, environmental impairment liability, first-party property coverages, cyber coverages, Directors and Officers liability, and errors and omissions. He also is an experienced negotiator who has represented clients at numerous mediations, settlement conferences, and other alternative dispute resolution proceedings across the United States.
Michael’s experience includes time in both private practice and in-house roles before joining Robinson+Cole. He most recently served as in-house counsel to a major international property and casualty carrier, where he was responsible for structuring a wide variety of ceded and assumed reinsurance deals, negotiating non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements, and counseling underwriters and business units about emerging regulatory issues.
