Biography
Rita E. Nerney represents clients in commercial litigation matters, primarily in managed care and insurance disputes. She also has experience representing clients in a wide range of complex business and commercial litigation, employment matters, energy-related matters, internal and government investigations. In addition, Rita has represented educational institutions, addressing various investigative matters, including Title IX issues and governance concerns. She has also worked on matters involving insurance coverage, professional liability, and general liability issues.
Prior to entering private practice, Rita Law Clerked for the Honorable Gilbert V. Indeglia, as Associate Justice of the Rhode Island Supreme Court. She has also clerked for the Rhode Island Trial Court Law Clerk Department. During law school, Rita served as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable O. Rogeriee Thompson of the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
Rita was a law student partner for the Roger Williams University School of Law Pro Bono Collaborative. She also was an Articles Editor for the Roger Williams University Law Review.
