Biography
Sedgwick Jeanite is a member of the firm’s Insurance + Reinsurance Group.
Sedgwick's practice involves advising his insurer clients regarding assessing and evaluating coverage for complex matters such as shareholder and derivative class action matters; regulatory investigations involving the SEC and the Department of Justice; private equity and hedge fund disputes; and bankruptcy reorganization matters and adversary proceedings.
Sedgwick also represents insurer clients handling employment practices liability matters. This includes assisting clients with assessing coverage for employee claims and lawsuits, including discrimination, harassment, employee discipline, wrongful discharge, breach of employment contracts and retaliation matters. His representation involves assisting insurers and insureds resolve claims prior to the filing of a lawsuit by a claimant. Sedgwick also assists insurers with monitoring defense counsel and the underlying litigation, negotiating settlements and the negotiating the terms and provisions of settlement agreements and releases.
In addition, Sedgwick has assisted clients in analyzing and addressing cybersecurity risks and data breaches and provided guidance in complying with data privacy laws and regulations. He also has experience in construction litigation, including representing clients in connection with disputes between contractors and subcontractors, and in resolving issues involving mechanic’s liens.
