Arielle Cummings practices in the areas of general civil and commercial litigation. She represents clients in health, managed care, life, accidental death, and disability, insurance disputes, assisting in the defense of claims related to coverage issues under individual policies and group welfare benefit plan, and challenges under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) as well as other state and federal laws.

Before joining our firm, Arielle was a special assistant attorney general in the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit of the Office of the New York State Attorney General. In that capacity, she investigated large-scale fraud and patient abuse by providers. Arielle also was charged with investigating matters under the criminal New York State Penal Law and the civil False Claims Act.

Prior to that experience, Arielle served as an assistant district attorney in the Queens County District Attorney’s Office in Queens, New York. She was responsible for all aspects of managing a rotating caseload of felony and misdemeanor cases.

While attending St. John’s University School of Law, Arielle was a judicial intern for The Honorable Gary R. Brown of the United States District Court, Eastern District of New York.
