Our Energy - Project Development practice has decades of collective knowledge and experience in all stages of energy and renewable energy project development. Our Services

We represent energy and renewable energy project developers, property and project owners, lenders, design professionals, and engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractors on all aspects of energy-related project development and delivery for traditional, alternative, and renewable energy projects.

Our lawyers represent clients on a host of energy and renewable energy development projects, including the permitting and construction of traditional and renewable power plants, and of electric transmission and distribution facilities, battery energy storage system facilities.

We assist our energy clients and project developers with securing facility siting and permit approvals for renewable and more traditional electric generating facilities, battery energy storage system facilities, modifications to nuclear power stations and fuel cells.

We provide a range of energy project development services, including:

  • Assisting clients obtain long-term electricity purchase agreements and obtaining necessary approvals for facility construction and operation
  • Negotiating interconnection and off-take agreements
  • Drafting and negotiating EPC contracts
  • Counseling clients on locating and accessing federal, state, and local funding sources for renewable energy and distributed generation projects
  • Advising clients on opportunities to earn income from elements of energy projects
  • Helping clients secure renewable attribute accreditation for projects

Our team also represents a wide spectrum of market participants in energy project disputes and litigation, including administrative appeals of state agency approvals, ownership of renewable energy credits and claims for defective design and construction, delays and inefficiencies, and disputed extra work.
