Cassandra M. Pereda’s practice focuses on tax-exempt municipal bond finance and taxable structured debt products, with an emphasis on affordable housing financing involving multifamily rental developments. She represents underwriters, lenders, issuers, borrowers, and other financing participants in tax-exempt and taxable bond financings, private placements, and related structured finance transactions, including both rated and unrated offerings. Her experience includes serving as underwriter’s counsel, issuer’s counsel, and lender’s counsel.

Cassandra advises clients throughout all phases of a transaction, including financing structure development, due diligence, disclosure review, negotiation of bond and loan documents, preparation of legal opinions, and closing coordination. She has substantial experience with affordable housing transactions involving governmental issuers, financial institutions, developers, trustees, and credit enhancement providers, including transactions utilizing low-income housing tax credits, construction-to-permanent financing structures, and bank-sponsored private placement programs.

Cassandra also serves as bond and loan counsel for the nation’s largest bank-sponsored tax-exempt housing bond and loan conduit private placement programs, supporting the financing and preservation of affordable multifamily rental housing projects across the country.
