David Rodrigues has extensive experience in intellectual property law, with a primary focus on trademark prosecution and counseling. He provides guidance on trademark clearance and advisory opinions, drafts trademark license agreements, and manages copyright, trademark, and patent assignments, including those involving international assets. David oversees complex trademark portfolios across domestic and international jurisdictions, helping clients safeguard their brands on a global scale. He is a partner in the firm’s Intellectual Property + Technology group.

David’s practice includes navigating the intricacies of trademark prosecution worldwide. He handles enforcement actions, oppositions, and cancellations before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB), Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP)  proceedings, and customs recordation for anti-counterfeiting efforts. Additionally, he represents clients in trademark and copyright litigation in federal court. David works with companies in various industries, including fashion, jewelry, hospitality, and food and beverage, offering tailored solutions for intellectual property protection and growth.

Prior to joining Robinson+Cole, David was a partner at a boutique IP law firm in New York City, where he worked closely with clients on all aspects of the intellectual property process, including advising on prosecution strategies, licensing, enforcement actions, and portfolio management. This comprehensive approach gives him valuable insight into addressing varied and complex intellectual property challenges.

Before transitioning to private practice, David gained in-house corporate experience at a digital marketing company. He worked full-time at a leading global financial institution during his time at New York Law School, where he also conducted research for a distinguished professor specializing in international intellectual property law.

David’s dedication to delivering strategic and effective trademark solutions makes him a trusted resource for businesses seeking to protect and strengthen their intellectual property across diverse markets.
