Construction Law group partners Dennis Cavanaugh and John Hunt will co-present a program titled, “Performance Bonds and Subcontractor Default Insurance,” at the American Bar Association Forum on Construction Law’s 2026 Regional Meeting.

Dennis and John’s program will examine the fundamental duties and rights of the surety, principal, and obligee under a performance bond. The session will explore the performance surety’s options following a principal’s default, as well as issues involving warranties, delay damages, design defects, and defenses to performance bond claims. The program will also address subcontractor default insurance as an alternative to requiring performance bonds from subcontractors.
