Kyle G. Hepner represents clients in a broad range of areas concerning Intellectual Property, with a practice focus on patent litigation, Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) proceedings, and building and managing U.S. and international patent portfolios. Kyle also has a strong background in patent landscape and risk analysis. His experience includes successful outcomes in patent and trademark district court litigation, Federal Circuit appeals, and PTAB proceedings. He advises clients on the emerging Intellectual Property issues and offers critical insights and experience in a range of areas, including mechanical and electromechanical devices, smart grid and smart home technology, manufacturing systems and methods, vehicle sensor diagnostics and control systems, and designs.

Prior to joining Robinson+Cole, Kyle worked at intellectual property law firms in the Washington, DC area handling a range of litigation, domestic, and international patent prosecution, and portfolio management. Before starting his legal practice, Kyle worked as a patent searcher, with emphasis in the areas of patentability, infringement, clearance, and validity searches. He has also done research into nanotechnology and computer-integrated manufacturing.
