Leticia C. Pimentel focuses her practice on energy and utility law. She routinely represents clients before the Rhode Island Public Utilities Commission (PUC) on a range of energy related regulatory and compliance matters. Most recently, Leticia represented the state’s electricity and natural gas distribution company in securing PUC approval for the state’s energy efficiency program and renewable energy growth program. Leticia also assists clients with the permitting and siting of energy, utility, and other infrastructure projects. She helps natural gas and electric providers secure permits and approvals for installation of new transmission and distribution facilities throughout Rhode Island.

In 2022, Leticia was presented with the Robinson+Cole Pro Bono Award. Most of Leticia’s pro bono work is focused on representing immigrant children and families through her work with Kids in Need of Defense (KIND). KIND’s mission is to ensure that no child appears in immigration court without high quality legal representation. Leticia has assisted minors, who entered the U.S. unoccupied, to obtain legal permanent residency.

Prior to joining our firm, Leticia served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable O. Rogeriee Thompson of the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. She assisted in the drafting of judicial opinions involving complex questions of federal and state law. Leticia also served as a law clerk for the Honorable Chief Justice Paul A. Suttell of the Rhode Island Supreme Court for two court terms and worked as a trial court law clerk for the Rhode Island Supreme Court.
