Nikolaos M. Hernandez advises and represents domestic and global insurers in coverage disputes arising from first-party property and business interruption claims and third-party liability claims. He has substantial litigation experience in the insurance coverage space and provides incisive analysis and guidance to help clients achieve their business objectives. Nik is also experienced in litigating claims involving allegations of bad faith and unfair claim settlement practices. 

Nik has a wealth of experience representing Write-Your-Own (“WYO”) insurance carriers in litigation brought under the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s National Flood Insurance Program. He has litigated matters on behalf of WYO-carriers in the Northern, Middle, and Southern District Courts of Florida. Nik has achieved several orders granting summary judgment as well as numerous orders granting motions to dismiss WYO cases that failed to comply with the Standard Flood Insurance Policy’s preconditions for initiating suit.

While in law school, Nik served as a legal intern for the Honorable Abby Cynamon of the 11th Judicial Circuit of Florida, where he conducted legal research and wrote memoranda on matters relating to presumption of paternity, adoptions, and motions to relocate.
