Raymond J. Carta litigates disputes related to group welfare benefits, the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), health insurance, disability insurance, and life insurance coverage.

Raymond has extensive experience handling a range of complex and sophisticated civil litigation matters. His experience includes trying both jury and bench trials as first and second chairs as well as drafting and successfully arguing motions to dismiss, to strike, for summary judgment, and in limine, for various insurance defense matters in multiple jurisdictions.

Raymond’s background includes resolving numerous cases through arbitrations, mediations, and pre-trial conferences, and conducting depositions of parties, fact witnesses, and expert witnesses. He has managed numerous litigation files from inception to trial, including making demands for and issuing responses to demands for discovery. Raymond has also conducted investigations into claims prior to litigation, interviewing various fact witnesses and medical professionals to defend and evaluate possible lawsuits.

Raymond has worked as a judicial intern for the Honorable Vanessa Bryant and the Honorable Dominic Squatrito in the U.S. District Court of Connecticut. 

Raymond has volunteered with local organizations in Stamford, even serving as the President of a non-profit childcare center.
