Sedgwick M. Jeanite's practice involves advising his insurer clients regarding assessing and evaluating coverage for complex matters such as shareholder and derivative class action matters; regulatory investigations involving the SEC and the Department of Justice; private equity and hedge fund disputes; and bankruptcy reorganization matters and adversary proceedings.   

Sedgwick represents insurer clients handling employment practices liability matters. This includes assisting clients with assessing coverage for employee claims and lawsuits, including discrimination, harassment, employee discipline, wrongful discharge, breach of employment contracts and retaliation matters. His representation involves assisting insurers and insureds resolve claims prior to the filing of a lawsuit by a claimant. Sedgwick also assists insurers with monitoring defense counsel and the underlying litigation, negotiating settlements and the negotiating the terms and provisions of settlement agreements and releases.

Sedgwick has assisted clients in analyzing and addressing cybersecurity risks and data breaches and provided guidance in complying with data privacy laws and regulations. He also has experience in construction litigation, including representing clients in connection with disputes between contractors and subcontractors, and in resolving issues involving mechanic’s liens.

Robinson+Cole Presents Annual Awards for Outstanding Contributions

On July 28, 2022, Robinson+Cole recognized 19 lawyers and staff members for their pro bono work, mentoring, community service and efforts to promote a diverse and inclusive work environment as part of the firm's annual awards. The Pro Bono Award is presented by the firm’s Pro Bono Committee and honors individuals for their outstanding commitment to Robinson+Cole’s pro bono initiative. This year’s honorees were Megan Baroni, Laurie  Krepto, Ryan  Leichsenring, Leticia Pimentel, Stephani  Roman and Business Center Specialist Elsa Colon, who were honored for their ongoing dedication and support of diversity, equity and inclusion efforts. The Robinson+Cole Mentor of the Year Award recognizes outstanding guidance, support, and encouragement of fellow lawyers and staff in their pursuit of professional growth. This year’s award was presented to Kendra Berardi, Kayla O'Leary, Abby Warren, Business Center Team Lead Cheryl Gardner and Legal Assistant Rebecca Hughes. In addition, Amanda Eckhoff, Andrew DePeau, and Immigration Paralegal Irina Sirovskaya Nokhrin were all recognized with the Community Service Award for their continued volunteerism.
