Robinson+Cole Advances Innovation as First Am Law 200 Firm to Partner with Newcode.ai in United States

Robinson+Cole took a significant step forward in its innovation goals by becoming the first Am Law 200 firm to strategically partner in the United States with Newcode.ai, a leading provider of agentic AI solutions designed specifically for the legal industry. The firm selected the Newcode.ai platform after successfully piloting the system from June until September 2025. It was formally introduced firmwide at a recent Bytes + Insights Lunch and Learn highlighting use cases on November 18, 2025. Newcode.ai CEO Maged Helmy was on-hand to answer questions and share insights. “By deploying the Newcode.ai solution on their Azure cloud, Robinson+Cole keeps their intellectual property and client data firmly within their control, turning security, transparency, and data governance into a competitive advantage. Combined with Newcode.ai agentic workflow builder and knowledge search, Robinson+Cole is taking a decisive leap to pioneer the next generation of legal services,” says Maged Helmy. Presented by the firm’s Technology Committee, including co-chairs Adam J. Petitt and Abby M. Warren, and moderated by the firm’s Director of Information Governance and Business Intake and ARMA International Chair Jim Merrifield, IGP, CIGO, the Bytes + Insights program demonstrated how Newcode.ai’s advanced capabilities can be woven into everyday legal processes to drive efficiency, improve accuracy, and strengthen client outcomes—all while upholding the highest standards of data security and compliance. Robinson+Cole’s collaboration with Newcode.ai reflects the firm’s commitment to deeply integrate technology with its people and processes. “Innovation is central to how we serve our clients. By embracing generative AI and advanced information governance, we’re not just responding to change - we’re driving it. These investments position us to deliver smarter, faster, and more secure solutions in an increasingly complex legal environment,” said Rhonda Tobin, Managing Partner at Robinson+Cole. Robinson+Cole’s approach to AI has been deliberate and forward-thinking. The firm began by prioritizing data security and responsible innovation, initially restricting the use of unapproved generative AI tools. As the technology matured, Robinson+Cole developed and implemented a comprehensive policy for the acceptable use of GenAI. The firm requires all users to complete targeted training, pass a comprehensive knowledge assessment, and formally agree to the firm’s standards for ethical and secure AI use. Throughout 2025, the firm accelerated its adoption of advanced AI solutions. Robinson+Cole launched pilot programs for Microsoft Copilot, hosted educational sessions and drop-ins to foster engagement, and designated October as Technology Awareness Month to drive firmwide participation. During this time, after several months of collaboration,  the firm formalized its strategic partnership with Newcode.ai. These initiatives aimed at embedding advanced AI into daily practice using closed systems are part of Robinson+Cole’s broader commitment to excellence in information governance and data security. That dedication was recognized in 2025, when Robinson+Cole became the first law firm to be designated by ARMA International (ARMA) as an ARMA Verified Organization, a prestigious status that recognizes the firm’s commitment to excellence in information governance, records management, and data stewardship. In addition, 2025 saw the firm achieve ISO 27001 certification, a stringent information security standard for businesses.
