Kimberly A. Sigler’s practice is focused on real estate development, acquisitions, dispositions, zoning compliance, permitting, alternative energy matters, and commercial leasing transactions.
Prior to joining Robinson+Cole, Kim served as the Assistant General Counsel and Director for a large global consumer products company, where her areas of responsibility included global real estate, consumer, aviation and military sales, environmental health and safety, sustainability, and workplace services. In that role, she led global real estate legal activities for a portfolio of more than 70 global office properties and industrial sites, including manufacturing, distribution facilities and customer service centers in North America, Europe and Asia, and 350+ retail store locations. Kim also advised and counseled executive management and drafted and negotiated letters of intent, purchase and sale agreements, commercial leases, tax agreements, training incentive and grant agreements, brokerage contracts, and architectural and engineering agreements, in addition to managing division counsel and a paralegal team.
Kim’s real estate background includes responsibility during her time in private practice for matters related to multi-state commercial leasing transactions, including retail, office, industrial and ground leases, acquisitions, real estate development, and sale/leaseback financing transactions. She was a key member of client service teams that represented a Fortune 20 retail pharmacy store chain and a private real estate investment trust (REIT) with more than $4 billion in investment properties under management. Kim was also responsible for matters related to general real estate and corporate governance, and pharmacy asset acquisitions.
Kim’s experience includes government relations functions, such as building relationships with local, state and federal level government officials, business leaders and stakeholders; and managing lobbying efforts. She has represented clients at planning board and permitting hearings in the U.S., coordinated permitting and signage matters with the Boston Planning & Development Agency, and has overseen business growth incentive programs in the U.S. and Asia.
In addition to her legal practice, Kim is an engaged and committed member of the Boston community. During her time as the Assistant General Counsel and Director for a large global consumer products company, she served as the interim head of the community relations and social impact team, she managed team members responsible for all company direct charitable (monetary & product donation) giving programs; the employee charitable match program; corporate memberships and sponsorships; and facilitation of volunteer efforts of global employees.
Kim’s current volunteer activities include serving as a member of the Board of Directors of the MetroWest Chamber of Commerce, a regional, not-for-profit business association serving more than 350 member organizations ranging from sole proprietorships and small/mid-tier businesses to Fortune 100 enterprises, municipalities, and not-for-profit organizations. Kim is also active with both the New England Council – a non-partisan alliance of businesses, academic and health institutions, and public and private organizations throughout New England that promote economic growth and a high quality of life across the region - as well as the Neighborhood Association of the Back Bay, a non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to preserving and enhancing the Back Bay neighborhood in Boston.
