Bankruptcy + Creditors’ Rights
Laurie A. Krepto has extensive experience in the unique issues that arise in mass tort bankruptcy cases such as estimation of tort claims, plan confirmation under §524(g) of the Bankruptcy Code, claimant case analysis, and drafting trust documents including trust agreements, trust distribution procedures, cooperation agreements, and related trust documents.
Laurie is a key member of the Robinson+Cole team representing the Official Committee of Asbestos Claimants in In re Bestwall LLC, In re DBMP, LLC, and Aldrich Pump, LLC, et al., asbestos chapter 11 cases pending in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of North Carolina. These cases involve the assignments of asbestos liabilities to newly created standalone entities in what are commonly referred to as “Texas Two-Step” bankruptcy cases. These complex chapter 11 cases present many issues of first impression.
Laurie also represents trust advisory committees for multiple asbestos trusts including the UGL Asbestos Personal Injury Trust, Leslie Controls Asbestos Personal Injury Trust, SPHC Asbestos Personal Injury Trust, Maremont Asbestos Personal Injury Trust, SWC Asbestos Personal Injury Trust and Presperse Talc Personla Injury Trust.
Additionally, her bankruptcy litigation experience includes defending and prosecuting preference and fraudulent transfer actions, automatic stay disputes, equitable subordination claims, nondischargeability actions, claims objections, assumption and rejection of contracts, and enforcement of contract rights.
Laurie has also counseled clients on implementing procedures for mitigating credit risks and on bankruptcy-related issues.
She has been selected by her peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America© in the area of Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization Law since 2018. In 2025, she was a finalist for the Legal Intelligencer’s Pennsylvania Unsung Heroes Awards and one of the recipients of the Global M& Network U.S.A. Women and Top Dealmakers Award.
Laurie was also a member of the teams of Robinson+Cole Bankruptcy + Reorganizations attorneys advising the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors on the Mallinckrodt plc restructuring, which won the Chapter 11 Restructuring of the Year (value: above $5 billion) during Global M&A Network's 15th Annual Turnaround Atlas Awards in 2023 and the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors on the Presperse Corporation restructuring which won the Chapter 11 Reorganization of the Year (value: $50MM TO $100MM).
Pro Bono and Community Service
Laurie has a deep commitment to pro bono legal services and is actively involved in the community. She represents low-income Philadelphia residents in Chapter 7 proceedings and is on the board of the Consumer Bankruptcy Assistance Project. She was an active participant in the Humanitarian Parole Project sponsored by the Integrated Refugee and Humanitarian Services, a nonprofit in New Haven, CT, which assists Afghan refugees. She has also represented clients in the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Name Change Clinic. In 2022, she received Robinson+Cole’s Pro Bono Award for her dedication and outstanding support of the firm’s pro bono initiatives.
Laurie recently completed a decade of service on the board of Pennypack Farm and Education Center, a Horsham-based community-supported agricultural farm that donates over 25,000 pounds of organic produce to regional food banks, trains future farmers, and educates the community on sustainable farming. In 2024, she received Robinson+Cole’s Community Service Award in recognition of the work she’d done with the organization. She has also been a coach for the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s high school Mock Trial competition from 2021-2025 and Girl Scout Leader for GSEP from 2013-2021.
Laurie is also an active member of the firm’s Wellbeing Committee where she serves as leader of the Social, Emotional & Environmental Subcommittee.

Laurie is a member of the Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Philadelphia Bar Associations. She is also a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Agriculture Law Committee, where she was a past Vice-Chair, and the American Agricultural Law Association.
