Margaret A. Goggins is an associate in Robinson+Cole’s corporate restructuring and bankruptcy practice out of our New York office. Margaret’s experience includes representing parties in complex chapter 11 proceedings nationwide, including creditors’  committees, secured and unsecured creditors, and creditor trusts. Margaret also focuses on bankruptcy litigation and has participated in appeals of contested bankruptcy matters.

Margaret contributes to the New York City Bar Association’s Consumer Bankruptcy Project, where she assists Chapter 7 debtors to prepare and file their petitions, explaining and advising individual debtors on bankruptcy law, as well as preparing individuals for their Section 341 Meeting of Creditors with a Chapter 7 Trustee by completing mock 341 meetings. She also participates in Robinson+Cole’s Pro Bono program with the New York Family Court’s Volunteer Program.

Prior to joining Robinson+Cole, Margaret served for two years as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Julie A. Manning in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Connecticut. Margaret also served as a litigation attorney for the Internal Revenue Service’s Office of Chief Counsel as part of the IRS Honors Program.

While in law school, Margaret was a contract administrator for the U.S. Department of Defense’s Defense Contract Management Agency and served as a legal intern for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Connecticut in Hartford, Connecticut, as part of the Civil Rights Enforcement Clinic.

Bankruptcy + Reorganizations Group Authors Key U.S. Sections for 2025 Chambers Insolvency Global Practice Guide

Our Bankruptcy + Reorganizations group continues to be recognized for thought leadership in the field, with team members contributing two significant chapters to the 2025 Chambers Insolvency Global Practice Guide. Law and Practice – USA Group co-chairs Davis Lee Wright and Natalie Ramsey, and partners Katherine M. Fix and Rachel Jaffe Mauceri authored the "Law and Practice – USA" section, providing a comprehensive overview of the U.S. insolvency framework. Their analysis covers: The Bankruptcy Code’s structure Creditor rights, remedies, and priorities Statutory restructuring and liquidation procedures Directors’ and officers’ duties, and Cross-border considerations Leveraging their broad experience guiding clients through high-stakes reorganizations and extensive work in litigation strategy and creditor negotiations, the authors provide a well-rounded analysis of U.S. bankruptcy law and offer relevant perspectives and practical insights for practitioners. USA – Delaware Trends and Developments In the "USA – Delaware Trends and Developments" chapter, group co-chair Davis Lee Wright and partner Rachel Jaffe Mauceri, joined by Evan M. Lazerowitz and Margaret A.
