Naomi I. Ahsan concentrates her practice on defense litigation, representing managed care organizations and health insurers, including plan and claims administrators, employers, and plan fiduciaries, in matters arising under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) and other federal and state laws. She guides clients through the regulatory, legal, and economic complexities of health benefits law and brings extensive experience working with government agencies.

Naomi has also defended hospitals, physicians, and allied professionals in medical malpractice cases and licensing proceedings. Her background includes drafting decisions for Administrative Law Judges adjudicating Medicare appeals at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and advising national and international food and drug industry clients on regulatory compliance. Additionally, she served as an advisor to the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs’ Board of Veterans’ Appeals, drafting VA benefits decisions for appellate Veterans Law Judges. Naomi has represented school districts, public entities, and businesses in various civil litigation. She has drafted and argued motions; conducted depositions; and prepared witnesses for trials and hearings. Clients value her exceptional drafting skills, effective handling of opposing counsel, courtroom presence, and ability to master complex medical fact patterns. She has successfully won summary judgment motions and negotiated favorable settlements for her clients.

During law school, Naomi interned at the U.S. Supreme Court and worked as a summer associate in the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Division, Commercial Litigation Branch through their competitive Summer Law Intern Program.

She is fluent in Spanish, Bengali, and Hindi.
