Affordable Housing + Finance team lawyer Kristin Niver authored an article titled, “After OBBB: Green Financing for Affordable Housing,” published in Affordable Housing Finance, on July 15, 2026. In the article, Kristin examines how the future of green finance for affordable housing may evolve amid shifting federal climate policy, including the passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill, and ongoing litigation surrounding the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF).

“The next phase of green finance for affordable housing will belong to developers and lenders who do not wait for a perfect federal program but instead build flexible capital stacks capable of surviving legal, political, and market change,” writes Kristin. “Developers who can present a clean green finance package—scope, savings, sources, compliance, timing, and fallback plan—will be better positioned to access that capital.”
