Robinson+Cole's Construction Law group received a national Tier 3 ranking in the area of Construction Law in the 2026 edition of Best Law Firms®. The group also received a Tier 1 ranking in Construction Law in Hartford, CT.

2025 Thomson Reuters’ Super Lawyers®

Marty Onorato, Chair of the Construction Law group, Dennis Cavanaugh, Greg Faulkner, and Fred Hedberg were named to the Connecticut Super Lawyers® list. Larry Grijalva was also recognized, earning a spot on Connecticut Super Lawyers® Rising Stars list.

Anand Gupta Elected to SABAC Leadership Role

Anand Gupta was elected Vice President, marking an elevation to SABAC’s executive board. In this role, Anand will help lead the organization’s strategic initiatives for expanding SABAC’s reach, enhancing member engagement, promoting professional excellence, and advancing innovative and forward-thinking ideas for diversity and inclusion in the Connecticut legal community. Anand was first elected to SABAC’s Board of Directors in 2025.

John Hunt Advises WNBA’s New York Liberty on New Practice Facility Construction

John Hunt is advising the WNBA’s New York Liberty on the design and construction of the team’s new training facility, including the preparation and negotiation of necessary agreements. The $80 million state-of-the-art practice facility, spanning 75,000 square feet, will be located in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, overlooking the Manhattan skyline. The facility’s opening is planned for 2027. For more information on the project, click here.

Virginia Trunkes Authors Q&A on New York Construction Law and Customs

Virginia Trunkes served as an author and editor for a Thomson Reuters Practical Law Q&A guide titled, “Construction Laws and Customs: New York.” Recently revised for 2026, the guide addresses state law and customs relating to public and private construction projects, including project delivery systems, contract forms, and commonly negotiated terms, warranties, and licensing requirements for construction professionals, among other construction law topics. Virginia Trunkes Featured in 2026 Women in Construction Spotlight

Virginia Trunkes was among those selected by the New York Real Estate Journal to be featured in the publication’s “2026 Women in Construction” spotlight, published on February 24, 2026. American Bar Association Forum on Construction Law Construction Insurance Program

Dennis Cavanaugh and John Hunt will be speaking at the American Bar Associate Forum on Construction Law regional program on Construction Insurance on November 19. Their presentation will cover the entire scope of chapter nine of Construction Insurance: A Guide for Attorneys and Other Professionals, Second Edition. Dennis and John co-authored the chapter, which focuses on surety bonds and contractor default insurance and their role in construction project risk management. The guide offers construction industry stakeholders with a current legal analysis and real-world insight on risk-transfer, insurance coverage, indemnity, and performance security. American Bar Association Forum on Construction Law 50th Anniversary

Dennis Cavanaugh, Greg Faulkner, Fred Hedberg, John Hunt, and Virginia Trunkes attended the 50th Anniversary of the American Bar Association Forum on Construction Law in Chicago, IL. The event marked five decades of leadership in construction law while also providing an opportunity to reflect on the profession’s evolution. Robinson+Cole partners enjoyed connecting with both new and longtime colleagues throughout the celebration.

Virgina has been appointed to the Steering Committee of Division 10 (Infrastructure, Energy and the Environment) of the American Bar Association's Forum on Construction as well as Chair of the Programs Subcommittee of the American Bar Association's Litigation Women Advocate Committee.

United Way of Central and Northeastern CT 6th Annual Building Foundations Breakfast

Robinson+Cole was proud to once again sponsor the United Way of Central and Northeastern CT 6th Annual Building Foundations Breakfast on April 30. This event raises resources to prevent children and families from becoming homeless and to secure stable housing for those living in shelters. Greg Faulkner and Fred Hedberg were in attendance with Real Estate + Development group attorney's Michele Maresca and Austin Provost. Greg serves on the Building Foundations Breakfast's steering committee.

Construction Institute 2026 Women Who Build Summit

Robinson+Cole was proud to sponsor the 2026 Women Who Build Summit on April 28–29. This annual event celebrates and advances women across the construction, architecture, engineering, and design industries through two days of programming and networking.

AIA New York Seminar

John Hunt was among the panelists presenting an AIA New York seminar program titled “Beyond Conventional Practice; Risk: What Is It Worth In Architecture?” John’s panel discussed the inseparable nature of risk and architecture, specifically how these elements go beyond conventional practice and how risk can be embraced for autonomy, agency, and meaning. Additionally, the discussion explored viable alternatives to conventional practice and if those new avenues post new forms of risk exposure.

Boys & Girls Club of Greater Washington 21st Annual Youth & Real Estate Event

Robinson+Cole was pleased to be a sponsor of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Washington’s 21st Annual Youth & Real Estate Event, presented by HITT on November 19.
