Zhuoyao (Joy) Hui is an experienced corporate and securities lawyer with an emphasis on equity and debt capital markets. She represents issuers, underwriters, and sponsors in a wide range of equity and debt offerings. Based in the firm’s New York office and a member of Robinson+Cole’s Capital Markets + Securities Group, her practice focuses on equity offerings, including initial public offerings, SPAC and de-SPAC transactions, follow-on offerings, and private placements, as well as debt offerings, including high-yield and investment-grade bonds, convertible bonds, liability management transactions, and leveraged acquisition financing.

Prior to joining Robinson+Cole, Joy worked in the in-house legal team of a prominent bulge-bracket international investment bank covering ECM, DCM and M&A transactions relating to a variety of industry-leading companies and unicorn companies in various industries, such as TMT, consumer goods, real estate, and manufacturing. She has substantial experience with clients from various jurisdictions, including the U.S. and across various jurisdictions in Asia, such as Hong Kong, Southeast Asia, Japan, and Korea. Prior to her tenure with the investment bank, Joy worked in the Hong Kong office of several international law firms.

Joy also has cross-practice experience in data privacy law and holds a CIPP/E certificate. She is familiar with the data and cybersecurity rules and regulations of various jurisdictions in APAC.

Joy’s cross-cultural experience and fluency, combined with her strong and varied legal skills and cross-border transactions, have been key to building successful relationships and helping companies meet their international business objectives.

She is a native Mandarin speaker and is fluent in English, with conversational facility in Cantonese and basic Spanish.

Robinson+Cole announced the election of Zhuoyao (Joy) Hui, Kathryn N. Mullin, and Austin G. Provost as Partners, effective January 1, 2026.
