Trademark prosecution lawyer David D. Rodrigues has joined Robinson+Cole as a partner in the firm’s Intellectual Property + Technology group. Rodrigues brings extensive experience in intellectual property law, with a focus on managing complex trademark portfolios across domestic and international jurisdictions. He joins Robinson+Cole from Gottlieb, Rackman & Reisman, P.C.

Rodrigues advises clients on trademark clearance and enforcement, drafts trademark license agreements, and handles copyright, trademark, and patent assignments, including those involving international assets. His addition strengthens the firm’s ability to deliver strategic IP counsel to clients navigating today’s global innovation landscape.

“We’re excited to add David to our dynamic Intellectual Property + Technology group,” said Rhonda J. Tobin, Managing Partner at Robinson+Cole. “He enhances our ability to provide innovative, end-to-end IP solutions to clients across a wide variety of industries. With the recent addition of partner Michael Pass and more than a dozen other talented lawyers, our New York office is experiencing tremendous growth. These strategic hires reflect our continued commitment to targeted expansion in key mid-Atlantic markets and deepening the capabilities of our practices firmwide.”

“Becoming a part of Robinson+Cole’s Intellectual Property + Technology group is a thrilling opportunity to meaningfully contribute to the continued growth and evolution of the practice,” said Rodrigues. “I’m energized by the strong alignment between my experience and the firm’s expansive capabilities, and I look forward to contributing to the firm’s momentum in New York and other key markets.”

Rodrigues’s practice includes navigating the intricacies of trademark prosecution worldwide. He handles enforcement actions, oppositions, and cancellations before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB), Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP) proceedings, and customs recordation for anti-counterfeiting efforts. Additionally, he represents clients in trademark and copyright litigation in federal court. Rodrigues works with companies in several industries, including fashion, jewelry, hospitality, and food and beverage, offering tailored solutions for intellectual property protection and growth.

In addition to Rodrigues and Pass, Evan M. Lazerowitz, Haipeng “Alex” Liang and Kristin E. Niver have joined the New York office as counsel, along with nine associates since the beginning of the year. They strengthen several key practice areas, including bankruptcy, capital markets, finance, real estate, managed care litigation and insurance coverage counselling and litigation. Shana A. Gillis also joined the New York office this year as the firm’s Director of Marketing.
